Make tomorrow

Xavier-Aurélien Racine, 18/05/2022

Put on the dress in which you were married
Pull down the veil til your eyes are hid
Can you remember where we both came from
Let us do as we did

Look at tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today

Put back the photo under your window
Put down the phone that you hold in your hand
Put away these things that stand in between us
Let us be what we can
When it seems
Hopeless
When it seems

Hopeless

Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow today

What better measure of what you were doing here
Then what you can leave behind
All the children of your children’s children
Do you ever think what they’re going to find
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow

Where the sacred meet the scared
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow
Where the dreamer’s dream is dared

In each of us
A dream can burn like the sun
Let’s try it all one more time
To get this lesson learned

Sitting up in a spaceship
Looking down at the earth
You wonder what they all stuggling for
What’s it all really worth
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Make tomorrow
Make tomorrow

Downside-Up

Xavier-Aurélien Racine, 11/05/2022
Xavier-Aurélien Racine,11/05/2022

I looked up at the tallest building
Felt it falling down
I could feel my balance shifting
Everything was moving around
These streets so fixed and solid
Ah shimmering haze
And everything that I relied on disappeared

Downside up, upside down
Take my weight from the ground
Falling deep in the sky
Slipping in the unknown
All the strangers look like family
All the family looks so strange
The only constant I am sure of
Is this accelerating rate of change

Downside up, upside down
Take my weight off the ground
Falling deep in the sky
Slipping in the unknown

I stand here
Watch you spinning
Until I am drawn in
A centripetal force
You pull me in

Pull me in
Pull me in
Pull me in
Pull me in
Pull me in

Ovo ovo ovo
Ovo ovo ovo
Ovo ovo ovo

Ovo ovo ovo
Ovo ovo ovo
Ovo ovo ovo

Downside up
Upside down
Take my weight off the ground
Falling deep in the sky
Slipping into the unknown

The Book of Love

The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It’s full of charts and facts and figures
And instructions for dancing

But I
I love it when you read to me
And you
You can read me anything

The book of love has music in it
In fact that’s where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb

But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything

The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It’s full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we’re all too young to know

But I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings

And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
You ought to give me wedding rings

Sky Blue

Lost my time lost my place in
Sky blue
Those two blue eyes light your face in
Sky blue
I know how to fly, I know how to drown in
Sky blue
Warm wind blowing over the earth
Sky blue
I sing through the land, the land sings through me
Sky blue
Reaching into the deepest shade of
Sky blue

Sky blue
So tired of all this travelling
So many miles away from home
I keep moving to be stable
Free to wander, free to roam

Train pulled out said my goodbyes
Sky blue
Back on the road alone with the sky
Sky blue
There’s a presence here no one denies
Sky blue
Sky blue

Sky blue
So tired of all this travelling
So many miles away from home
I keep moving to be stable
Free to wander, free to roam

I can hear the same voice calling
Crying out, from my heart
And that cry, what a cry
What a cry, it’s going to be
If I can stop to let it out, oh

That voice again

Oh, I’m listening to the conversation
Judge and jury in my head
It’s colouring everything
All we did and said
And still I hear that sharp tongue talking
Talking tangled words
I can sense the danger
Just listen to the wind

I wanna be with you, I wanna be clear
But each time I try, it’s the voice I hear
I hear that voice again

I want you close, I want you near
I can’t help but listen, but I don’t wanna hear
Hear that voice again

And I wanna be with you, I wanna be clear
But each time I try, it’s the voice I hear
I hear that voice again

Oh, I’m hearing right and wrong so clearly
There must be more than this
It’s only in uncertainty
That we’re naked and alive
I hear it through the rattle of a streetcar
Hear it through the things you said
I can get so scared
Listen to the wind

I want you close, I want you near
I can’t help but listen, but I don’t want to hear
Hear that voice again
What I carry in my heart
Brings us so close or so far apart
Only love can make love

And I want you close and I want you near
I can’t help but listen, but I don’t wanna hear
I hear that voice again

I wanna be with you, I wanna be clear
But each time I try, it’s the voice I hear
I hear that voice again

We Do What We’re Told

We do what we’re told
We do what we’re told
We do what we’re told
Told to do

We do what we’re told
We do what we’re told
We do what we’re told
Told to do

One doubt
One voice
One war
One truth
One dream

San Jacinto

Xavier-Aurélien Racine, 06/04/2022

Thick cloud, steam rising
Hissing stone on sweat lodge fire
Around me, buffalo roam
Sage in bundle, rub on skin
Outside, cold air
Stand, wait for rising sun
Red paint, eagle feathers
Coyote calling, it has begun
Something moving in
I taste it in my mouth and in my heart
It feels like dying, slow
Letting go of life

(Hyena wakan tanka)
(Hyena wakan tanka)
(Hyena wakan tanka)
(Hyena wakan tanka)
(Hyena wakan tanka)
(Hyena wakan tanka)

Medicine man lead me up through town
Indian ground, so far down
Cut up land, each house a pool
Kids wearing water wings, drink in cool
Follow dry river bed
Watch Scouts and Guides make pow-wow signs
Past Geronimo’s disco
Sitting Bull steakhouse, white men dream
A rattle in the old man’s sack, see
Look at mountain top, keep climbing up
Way above us the desert snow
White wind blow

I hold the line, the line of strength that pulls me through the fear
San Jacinto, I hold the line
San Jacinto, the poison bite and darkness take my sight
I hold the line
And the tears roll down my swollen cheek
Think I’m losing it, getting weaker
I hold the line, I hold the line
San Jacinto, yellow eagle flies down from the sun, from the sun

We will walk on the land
We will breathe of the air
We will drink from the stream
We will live, hold the line
Hold the line, hold the line
We will live, hold the line
Hold the line, hold the line

Kiss That Frog

Xavier-Aurélien Racine 01/04/2022

Jump in the water

Sweet little princess
Let me introduce his frogness
You alone can get him singing
He’s all puffed up, wanna be your king
Oh you can do it
C’mon [x6]
Lady kiss that frog

Splash, dash heard your call
Bring you back your golden ball
He’s gonna dive down in the deep end
He’s gonna be just like your best friend
So what’s one little kiss
One tiny little touch
Aaah, he’s wanting it so much
I swear that this is royal blood
Running through my skin
Oh can you see the state I’m in
Kiss it better, Kiss it better
(Kiss that frog)

Get it into your royal head
He’s living with you, he sleeps in your bed
Can’t you hear beyond the croaking
Don’t you know that I’m not joking
Aaah, you think you won’t
I think you will
Don’t you know that this tongue can kill
C’mon [x6]
Lady kiss that frog

Let him sit beside you
Eat right off your plate
You don’t have to be afraid
There’s nothing here to hate
Ah, princess you might like it
If you lower your defence
Kiss that frog, and you will
Get your prince [x2]
(Huh!)

Jump in the water, c’mon baby jump in with me
Jump in the water, c’mon baby get wet with me
Jump in the water, c’mon baby jump in with me
Jump in the water, c’mon baby get wet (get wet, get wet)

Kiss that frog, lady kiss that frog [x4]

Jump in the water, c’mon baby jump in with me [x3]
Jump in the water, c’mon baby get wet
(get wet, get wet) [x6]

Games Without Frontiers

Xavier-Aurélien Racine, 22/03/2022

Hans plays with Lotte, Lotte plays with Jane
Jane plays with Willi, Willi is happy again
Suki plays with Leo, Sacha plays with Britt
Adolf builds a bonfire, Enrico plays with it

Whistling tunes we hide in the dunes by the seaside
Whistling tunes we’re kissing baboons in the jungle

It’s a knockout

[2x]
If looks could kill,
They probably will
In games without frontiers
War without tears

Games without frontiers
War without tears

Jeux sans frontières [3x]

Andre has a red flag, Chiang Ching’s is blue
They all have hills to fly them on except for Lin Tai Yu
Dressing up in costumes, playing silly games
Hiding out in tree-tops shouting out rude names

Whistling tunes we hide in the dunes by the seaside
Whistling tunes we piss on the goons in the jungle

It’s a knockout

[2x]
If looks could kill,
They probably will
In games without frontiers
War without tears

Games without frontiers
War without tears

Sledgehammer

Xavier-Aurélien Racine,

You could have a steam train
If you’d just lay down your tracks
You could have an aeroplane flying
If you bring your blue sky back

All you do is call me
I’ll be anything you need

You could have a big dipper
Going up and down, all around the bends
You could have a bumper car, bumping
This amusement never ends

I want to be your sledgehammer
Why don’t you call my name
Oh let me be your sledgehammer
This will be my testimony
Show me round your fruit cakes
‘Cause I will be your honey bee
Open up your fruit cakes
Where the fruit is as sweet as can be

I want to be your sledgehammer
Why don’t you call my name
You’d better call the sledgehammer
Put your mind at rest
I’m going to be-the sledgehammer
This can be my testimony
I’m your sledgehammer
Let there be no doubt about it

Sledge sledge sledgehammer

I kicked the habit (I kicked the habit)
Shed my skin (Shed my skin)
This is the new stuff (This is the new stuff)
I go dancing in, (We could go dancing in)
Oh won’t you show for me (Show for me)
I will show for you (Show for you)
Show for me (Show for me), I will show for you

Yea, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I do mean you
Only you, you’ve been coming through
Going to build that power
Build, build up that power, hey
I’ve been feeding the rhythm
I’ve been feeding the rhythm
Going to feel that power, build in you

Come on, come on, help me do
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you
I’ve been feeding the rhythm
I’ve been feeding the rhythm
It’s what we’re doing, doing
All day and night, come on and help me do, come on and help me do

voyageuse solitaire
entourée de mystère

les pages que tu lis
nous cachent ton regard
te cachent-elles aussi
qu’une guerre se prépare
voyageuse solitaire
entourée de mystère

est-ce que tu fuis dans ce train
quelque amant
qui chercherait à briser ton silence
est-ce que tu fuis dans ce train
quelque enfant
qui volerait ton indépendance

ton compartiment
reflète sans passion
ton comportement
de femme au salon
voyageuse solitaire
entourée de mystère

le soleil couchant
joue avec l’horizon
et tes sentiments
se cherchent une raison
voyageuse solitaire
entourée de mystère

est-ce que tu fuis dans ce train
quelque amant
qui chercherait à briser ton silence
est-ce que tu fuis dans ce train
des serments
prononcés lors d’une dernière danse

est-ce que tu fuis dans ce train
quelque amant
qui chercherait à briser ton silence
est-ce que tu fuis dans ce train
quelque enfant
qui volerait ton indépendance
